Red light…green light?
Posted by Darla
Today we had to go to Harlingen,Texas to purchase the insulation that we need to have put up before the team arrives on Saturday. We had tried to purchase it in Mexico, but they do not have what we need. We loaded the van with just over 1/2 the amount, the fans and plumbing supplies and headed for the boarder. Usually I am the nervous one, but this time Keith was really aprehensive about the amount we had in the van–we had taken out all the seats and it was FULL. You are allowed about $50.00 per person in the vehicle. Above that, you have to ”pay tax”. Just before the bridge we telephoned family and friends to pray for a green light.
As we drove through the narrow lane, the light turned red! Oh no. We got out and an inspector asked what we had and how much it as worth. We showed him the paperwork and told him we could not buy these things in Mexico, or we would have. He left us and went and got his boss. The boss could speak English and questioned us further. We told him that this was not to be resold, it was a donation for a Church. We told him it was not our money, but God’s money. He shook our hands and let us go.
“God has given us favor“, were the first words out of Keith’s mouth. When we telephoned our friends, they said, “We prayed that God would give you favor“! Indeed He did!
We rejoice! He has given us favor! What a great time lies ahead!
Blessed,
Darla
