Hola!
Our first day of “work” is done and much was accomplished.
After our visit to the school, we began the physical labor in earnest. All the electrical work is completed……however the Electric Company still has not turned on the electricity. Nothing is ever easy! Thanks to Amy’s Spanish, we were able to run an extension cord from the neighbor across the street to run our saws.
The painting team has completed all of the outside walls that were plastered, leaving only the laundry room and storage room outer walls. They were plastered yesterday and will be painted today. The roof is well underway on the storage unit. Sue and Ken are working with Eliel on the tile. Don, Deanne, Greg and Pat have most of the insulation up and the drywall is going up on the front part of the ceiling. Dick (we affectionately call him ‘Dick the Elder’) is teaching everyone how to drywall. The hope is to have most of the ceiling up today.
The ladies from Nueva Vida fed us lunch and supper yesterday. Wonderful Pollo Milenesa (chicken sliced very thin, lightly breaded and fried) and tostados were enjoyed by all. We love the ‘melon water’!
In our devotional time today we reflected on how we experience Jesus in our lives. It is so cool to hear each person’s perspective and what Jesus means to them personally. This time is so important to the team and to begin our day sitting at the feet of Jesus, acknowledging His presence in our lives every day.
Thank you again for your prayers!

a personal note to my Dad…………I have received several emails from Rhea and want to make sure you have gotten the news that Ray is in the hospital with heart problems and will have a stint put in on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. She asks for your prayers.
Love,
Darla

Hi Keith, Darla, Sue, Lou and all other hard workers. I’m praying for you and following your work. The food sounds wonderful. Tonight we had Chinese buffet, but it was not really that good. It was 45 degrees today. Yeah! Have a great week. Love you! Shirley
