Another great day yesterday!

One half of the ceiling is up.  The team is getting faster with each piece they put up.  The taping and mudding will begin today.  The storage room is all tiled and painted and the laundry room is ready for paint and tile.  We will begin to build inside walls today as well as put the roof on the storage room.

After lunch we stopped by the Nursing Home and one Team member described it as a “holy” time.  After a brief tour, chairs were brought out into the courtyard.  We sat with the residents and someone in our group began to sing.  One man has no legs and sat next to Sue, holding her hands, a smile on his face.  A young man lives there after his Mother. They went to Javier and Alicia  seeking refuge.    He has cerebel palsey. (I’m sorry for my spelling)  I think we could have stayed the entire afternoon.

Later in the day Judy, Lois and I drove to Texas and picked up three doors and 7 ceiling fans.  We were thankful for a green light as we really had more than we should have had.

The good part is that once the roof and door is on the storage room , we can safely leave our tools.  Although we have a door on the front of the house, the bars are not yet on the windows, so someone could get in.  There is no window in the storage room, so it is a better place to leave things.

Everyone is healthy although a little sore using a lot of muscle to put up the dry wall on the ceiling.  It takes two or three people up on the scaffolding running the screw guns and at least two on the floor holding the “T’s”.  Two people are measuring and cutting the next piece so it is ready to go.  The funny part is that we have to keep switching people who are using the screw guns according the the height of the ceiling.  So we have a “short crew” and a “tall crew”!

Our devotions today were from  Luke 1:46.  We looked at how Mary was affected and changed by what the angel told her of the birth of Christ.  We reflected on how our perspective is being changed by what we see and experience here in Mexico.  I must say that most agree that we are being “messed up” in our thinking and way of doing things.

Thank you for your prayers!

Tonight Don and I are going to try to insert some pictures in the Blog.

HE is with us!
